"Especially due to the currently growing demand in the field of e-mobility, the markets are reacting very dynamically," emphasizes Vees and continues: "Both local Asian companies and European companies with production facilities in the Asian region are interested in our systems for optimizing intralogistics. Therefore, we at montratec are now also increasingly focusing on the economic area of Asia."
As sales director, Vees took over the Asian business at the beginning of the year. Previously, was focusing on expanding market share in Germany, Switzerland and Austria (D-A-CH) for 3 years. "Based on my international experience in previous positions, the new challenge fits well with my profile," says Vees, explaining the professional leap to the Far East.
The reinforcement of the montratec team in the economic impulse center of Asia is already in full swing: "There is a wide-meshed distribution network, which we are now supplementing and pulling closer together to close strategic gaps on the one hand, and expand to realize further projects on the other," says Vees. In addition to Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, the focus is particularly on China. Vees: "The complexity of the Chinese market calls for local experts at every stage of a project. We have now found this expertise by working with a local company that is particularly specialized in the mediation of locally experienced specialists. Tailored to the respective individually designed montrac® intralogistics solution and according to montratec’s requirements, a team has been put together and will be expanded flexibly, depending on the size and scope of the project."
Business initiation and project implementation in China are now driven on two tracks: from the headquarters in Germany and by the localized Chinese expert on site. "This is optimal for our solutions in the intralogistics business," explains Vees. "Thus, we can access the expertise of our engineers at headquarters at any time and also meet our customer requirements on site."
With regard to current developments, Vees adds, "New laws and framework conditions, such as China's anti-sanctions law, show how important local business partners are. The company montratec has installed a code of conduct for all business partners in order to manage the cooperation amicably and in the best possible way, even under these conditions.“
